Businesses That Allow Carry in NYS - UPDATED By Counties

Sorry for the derailment.

I've got about 15-20 pairs of Wigwam. I used to think they were the best also. That changed when I bought SmartWool socks, and also Darn Tough Vermont socks. Both are better than all my Wigwam's.

They are expensive, but worth it. The Darn Tough are actually guaranteed for LIFE. I've already used the guaranty for a pair that are over the calf (when I wear boots I need otc). After a few wears they didn't stay up otc. I exchanged them for a different style. No return shipping charge. No additional charge for the more expensive new pair. No shipping for the new pair.

The ONE PROBLEM with Darn Tough, they are definitely a liberal company. But so are so many others that we all deal with. At least they truly stand behind their claim of 'these are lifetime socks'. Check them out:

I agree with everything you said here. I bought a pair of wigwam socks thinking they were great and hearing good things about them. I was not very happy and after one wash they pilled up like crazy. I have some darn tough and I wear them much more and they hold up way better. I too like smart wool socks.

Or a judge decides because you're the wrong race, your not entitled to protection under the law! We've seen some venues try to limit what people wear (clothing with speech)... Bad examples, but this is much the same, that it's left to individuals to decide if and how you may exercise your right(s)... A ridiculous notion and brilliant checkmate move by Liberals to put this into the law (unconstitutional) passed by NYS.

A business does not get to decide, sorry! And concealed is concealed! Now, the question is would we give extra attention to those who publicly declare they're Constitution Friendly? Ehhhh... I'm not so sure! It just reinforces the idea that it's up to someone else to decide what I do, that I need permission to live or how I might live! Just more deeply entrenched Liberal Programming right there!

So FUNY and you're bullshit law, restricting possession to being a safe queen! And FUNY for thinking it's ok to transfer authorization for exercising my 2nd Amendment Right to business or property owners. Thank you very much, but I'll do what ever it is that makes me smile in my pursuit of happiness!!! It's all good mind you, for those who need approval, or seek to reward bad behaviors. Unfortunately bud (and for all of us in this case), the law doesn't care about what you personally think makes sense based on what ISN'T said. First of all the law clearly states the signage must must expressly give permission; which that does not. Second, a quick and simple google search finds that signage has been on every Walmart since 2019, and is directly related to Walmart then adopting a policy of asking customers to refrain from openly carrying firearms. It has nothing at all to do this new NY law or adopting signage to comport with it.

I'm assuming you're a Christian of some stripe or other. So, I am genuinely curious exactly what right or rights did your god give you that relates to this, and specifcally where does it tell you that in your bible ? Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I don't remember any part like that. I do remember however where it gives very specific rights and instructions, just for example, for people to buy and own you as property. Funny that people who do this rights given by god stuff don't go around lamenting THOSE kinds of 'God given' rights (you know.. that are actually in the book) being interfered with by these pesky laws.
This isn't about religious belief itself, no matter how you, I, or anyone else feels about it. The point is about representing any argument for gun ownership with hypocricy and unfalsifiable claims, and where that leaves cultural mindsets toward it. There is however a Bill oF Rights, that actually objectively exists our shared reality. (Well, in so much as we can confirm anything objectively exists). If Conservitives of this country cannot stop foolishly intertwining guns and god as an identity, then gun ownership will fall.

EDIT: If you're not of an Abrahamic religion however, I would be interested in learning about this religion that's giving out gun rights. That's one I might could get down with.

EDIT 2: Also, I really didn't want to interrupt and possibly derail this thread about a listing of businesses with signs , but I kind of feel like that's what you did here, and the sort of 'holier-than-though' (pun intended, given the subject matter) attitude about compliance and such I found irritating; which is what really prompted my response. That, and that any discussion/encouragement/whatever of illegal actively/implying breaking the law is strictly against the rules of the site, and non-compliance stuff can very much push that line (I'm not saying you crossed it). What you do is your business, but any activity not in compliance with the law by members cannot be discussed here if the site is to continue to exist.
So, that said, if you feel like answering my initial questions, or voicing your opinons on the law and such, maybe just move it to a thread about the law, start a new one about your 'god given rights', PM me to tell me I'm a big heathen meanie if you like, whatever. What Walmart did was "punt on 3rd down". They went out of their way to try really hard to not take any stance on anything that might be political so they have a generic non-descript position so they can't be called out by either side.

Instead of just having a concealed carry welcome sign they and risk having some group like moms against gun violence make statements against them.

In many states their standard "please refrain from open carry" works because their customers can still legally conceal carry. It doesn't work the same way here in NY where the business has the burden to visibly opt in for their customers to legal conceal carry.

But as they say, concealed is concealed. If you really actually need it, whatever the consequences might end up being would be worth it. Besides I'm still not totally convinced that a DA would actually charge a NY state licensed pistol owner carrying their legal gun on private property that has no position on guns (i.e. no signs either way pro or anti) if they followed all other laws and were justified in their self defense. They may choose not to expose the ridiculous CCIA to that scrutiny and just choose not to charge.

It might even be as simple of an explanation as if Walmart Expressly permits concealed carry in their store their insurance provider would charge them a higher rate, so to qualify for a lower rate they can't have a corporate policy to allow conceal carry. This is how corporations work
