Buying Ammo in 2024 Questions

So, for those of us that don't have the luxury to make special trips to different states to buy ammo, what are some alternative solutions people are doing?

If you shipped an order to a family member out of state, can they send you your ammo through the mail to bypass this retarded law?

Does anyone know of a place that doesn't give a fuck about shipping ammo to your home anyway? (hypothetically asking for a friend)

All my friend wants is like 1000 rounds of fmj 9mm so they can start shooting again.

Also, are private sales/trades of ammunition good to go? Or do you need an FFL involved?

I've reloaded before, it's a solution, but not one I want to invest in or resort to right now.

Buy enough for 3-6 months and have it shipped to an out of state address with friends. Make vacation plans and go pick it up.

I know a secret .. and it's not Victoria ..

for the low cost of lets say .. 125 bucks .. you can make your own BP .. 10 pounds of it ..

after that fist cost .. its now own 52 bucks and a little shipping ..

no hazmat fees either ..

It all comes down to networking. I decided that unless it was absolutely necessary, I dont want to run to PA, at least not now. I have a cousin in GA that drives up twice a year to see her parents. I just send her husband a list and they bring me the goods. I have another friend in Texas that tries to drive up once a year...same thing with him. I do reload my most of rifle and cowboy ammo. But when it comes to things like 9mm, 22lr, and 5.56 I find it more convenient to order a shit ton and be good with it.

If you sell ammo you need to be registered with NYS and you need to conduct a background check at point of sale.
My dad needs ammo and I’m heading out of state. I’ll ask him for money up front and use his cash to buy it in said state and give it to him when I get back and that’s perfectly legal as far as I know.
Shipping ammo isn't cheap and having it shipped all over will cost more than doing the background check. I’m against the background check so I’d pay the additional fee but that’s just me.

but it comes with a box of ammo that is free ..

there is nothing in the law on giving out free ammo ..
