I am not familiar with the maple leaf lawmaking process, but this is a still a bill not a law? Is is expected to pass?
If so it will only take a generation to have no legal pistols in the country. I am 100% sure that will eliminate all handgun crime.
*edit* this bill, if passed also puts a 5 round limit on long gun magazines. Nothing like taking something like an original Winchester 1873 and butchering it up so it has a permanent 5 round capacity.

After what went on in Canada during Covid, this was the next logical step on the way to a full socialist dictatorship.
Good. This is what I like to see. An elected official that is not afraid to make big changes and big decisions.

I know it's in Canada, but the context was as it applies here in the States. Canada is no stranger to government overreach and if I remember correctly, they tried to force registration of long guns and were met with stiff resistance. Canadians didn't give a fuck and let their government know.
Okay, that all may be true. But, now handguns are illegal. What will the Canadians do about it? I am curious to see how this plays out.
They, as a nation, caved pretty hard when it came time for Covid, very much like the US.
