You are incorrect. They can and do such actions now for fireworks.

They can go in to PA and watch and report. They can not do straw sales or do any actual enforcement until you are back in NYS . But observation is not enforcement. Do not be fooled.

They can watch people buy the ammo , get into their car, watch them drive over the border and have a team of police pull you over if they make importation of ammo a crime as they did in CA.

They can even follow you back to your house and get a search warrant.
Don’t anyone get in trouble for misunderstanding the law and how it can be enforced.

We are debating a law that hasn't been passed. It would be illegal if they passed one saying that you must buy from a NY FFL. With that said, it wouldn't be illegal to buy out of state and shoot the ammo out of state. They will also never know if you indeed did that unless coded ammo existed.

You can be insulting all you want but I am pointing out how easy and legal that is. You aren’t making any friends in LE with that nor convincing any not to enforce it against you. You can make a case against such laws or tactics without that BS.

It would be a specialized unit that would do these things. Not most LEOs or even agencies.

And I have no problem with them doing it with fireworks, untaxed cigarettes and alcohol if personal use was allowed.

I do not like the ban on how one could obtain such stuff from the internet and such. I am lucky I have an FFL friend . My old partner who lives in NYC has a bigger issue. He already lives under almost all of these laws and used to get his ammo mailed to my house before SAFE. Slowly we all are going to be under similar restrictions if things don’t turn for the better.

What do you do when you live in say Rochester and that "somewhere else" ultimately becomes say Virginia?

I have family in Virginia and Ohio, I have frieds that live in Florida, Georgia and Arizona, I can have ammo shipped to them and go get it. \

to be honest, In a couple years this will not even be an issue, I'll be outa New Yorkistan. and not because of the weather as some asshole seems to think.

I have been to Va, Pa, Oh, WVa numerous times and never been stopped on the way home. I don't speed (much) and every light on my vehicles works. So LE would have no reason to pull me over, unless I get in an accident

the point is, the NYSP will not travel half way across PA just to catch a New Yorker buying ammo. They may go into Pa a few miles to a known ammo seller but they won't go half way across the state.

BTW, this is a moot point untill some douche nozzle in Albany gets around to passing a law

There were news articles indicating NYPD went into Afghanistan and Iraq! What makes you think NYSP wouldn't go 30 minutes more into PA to catch those skirting The Tyrant's oppressive laws if ordered to?
