Cali Is Banning “Others” or Title 1 Firearms, Should NY Be Worried?

Aren’t others legal in NY? I don’t recall seeing a law stating other wise but if you can show there then that’s that. NY has law but within those laws there’s unspoken laws that are enforced but now written down. Just because no one wants to become a test case doesn’t mean it’s illegal.

The problem is when that get flips around. Doesn’t mean it’s legal. You take your chances, but ask yourself: would I be comfortable pulling out my “other” at a range if the point to my left had a NYSP gun investigator and the one on the right had an anti-RKBA county DA? If you can answer yes to that question then you’re good.

I get where you’re coming from though and in all honesty with these gun laws even when you comply you’re still fucked. This post isn’t against you. Just trying to make a point. But maybe I have taken a 15 rd magazine to the range one time or another and there may have been cops there. Maybe they thought I was one of them because who would blatantly shoot 15 rounders without a care in the world. Or maybe they just didn’t care because they were off duty. Or maybe they weren’t cops but looked the part like me.

I hear these stories all the time. That doesn’t mean that nothing is going to happen. All it takes is a car accident and the responding officer does what he has to do because you put him in that situation according to him.

First of all you’re assuming anyone involved with the legal process knows what an other is. My bet is that most don’t know what an other is. They would just see it as an assault riffle. My dad has been a cop for 33-34 now and I asked him if he knew of an other firearm was legal and if I’d be hassled by the cops for having one. He said I don’t know what it is show me a picture. I showed him. He said looks legal to me why are you worried? I said oh I don’t know the pistol grip, flash suppressor, adjustable stock and he had no clue. So don’t count on cops knowing what one is.

All the police will do in my opinion is arrest you and let the DA or whoever sort it out.
