California and Washington state are making moves to stop the sale of gas powered vehicles. California approved theirs already and Washington says they will adopt it. The federal government needs to approve it but it’s unlikely Biden will say no. You can bet NYS will follow suit soon.

Prices are already rising because of demand. Ford just raised prices as well as all the others. This affordable EV won’t be happening. One wonders is this the plan to strip our freedoms and make cars out of the hands of individuals?

Partly.
The other side is that they know EVs will limit how far people can travel.

Overall, this is a design intended on keeping people locked into specific geographic regions to better control them, and reduce mingling and a sharing of ideas.
It also reduces the chance that people could gather, far from their homes, to support others who are being oppressed by this .gov.

I've yet to see the rule stating the military or police will have to convert to EVs by 2035.

Very good point. No one ever does or thinks about that.
I don’t think the vast majority of society will be happy with them when they get into an EV for ownership. I think they will find it a PIA, forget to charge them, run out of charge, the batteries will die, buying one used will be a crap shoot, and think of what it will cost if you switch manufacturers and need a new plug. The battery life and range will not be what is stated for most.
