They are 'jumpstarting it' by making law enforcement also use firearms that microstamp the brass, claiming it would force manufactures to make it work so they can sell to LE. Wouldn't it be funny if no manufacturer bothered and no agencies could buy new firearms?

It's on us to make that happen. Refuse to buy ANYTHING from any manufacturer who starts making microstamping firearms.

Not that I’m trying to give them any ideas but if they required police departments to do micro stamping as a field test with a one site stamp instead of two, they would just hire a secondary parts company to make the firing pins ( at a great cost) and ten years later they would find what a false premise they are trying to force on all CA gun owners. It might also open up sales of non CA safe roster firearms if private purchaser was willing to buy the aftermarket micro stamped part.
I still remember how Cobis was supposed to solve the shootings here and not one was solved by it.

Here is what I don’t u set stand how would all the manufacturers even coordinate this? How would you make sure there were no duplicate numbers? It would cause proprietary information needing to be shared. Also at some point wouldn’t we run out of numbers? Guns seemingly last forever right? Say sit saiser starts at 00001 and glock starts at 00001 so who shot who with what gun? It won’t take very long for either a sig 365 or a Glock to hit 100,000 or even a million units sold very quickly. How many micro stamped numbers can fit on a firing pin?

I also see zero ways to make it work to have it micro stamped in two places without increasing malfunctions.

You make a good point. I'm surprised they aren't screaming for this for 'police reform'. On a side note, when Cuomo killed COBIS stating it was expensive and didn't solve crime, I thought he might actually be a good governor. Man was I wrong....

This needs to be challenged and deemed unconstitutional quickly before Biden forgets how many justices are on the Supreme Court. I also see three justices retiring soon and they will all be “conservative” justices.

I guess they will outlaw FILES next too... Because somehow or another when I used those "steel" casings it malfunctioned my micro stamper... Geeeeee, I didn't know, sorry!

Point is... What enforcement will be attached? Yearly micro stamping inspection? Ranges collect brass and validate it with licensee? And more...

All nothing but a lot of big bullshit in order to exercise a RIGHT!
