California Democrats Seek to Ban More Semiautomatic Guns as ‘Assault Weapons’
California Democrats are using Assembly Bill 88 to include more semiautomatic firearms under their current “assault weapons” ban.


The NRA-ILA reported on the push to add new guns to the California “assault weapons” ban, saying, “AB 88 was amended yesterday to include significant policy changes that would expand the definition of “assault weapon” under California’s “Assault Weapons Control Act.”

The amended language of Assembly Bill 88 says:

Existing law generally prohibits the possession or transfer of assault weapons, except for the sale, purchase, importation, or possession of assault weapons by specified individuals, including law enforcement officers. Under existing law, “assault weapon” means, among other things, a semiautomatic centerfire rifle, a semiautomatic shotgun, or a semiautomatic pistol that does not have a fixed magazine and has any one of specified attributes, including, for rifles, a thumbhole stock, and for pistols, a 2nd handgrip.
This bill would expand the definition of “assault weapon” to include a semiautomatic firearm that is not a rifle, pistol, or shotgun, that either does not have a fixed magazine but has any one of the attributes currently associated with assault weapons, as specified, that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds, or that has an overall length of less than 30 inches

Why make the residents become high valued targets when you can make them trained residents, residents who can defend themselves. LA won’t give up their guns, and they shouldn’t. NY is a lost cause regardless because the radical left are electing left minded people in office and on the job. If you’re law enforcement you shouldn’t be anti gun. Practice what you preach. I’d give any politician a million dollars cash on the same day if they walked through the toughest neighborhood in America and hold a rally/speech about gun control without their security. Tell a cop who’s anti gun to do a 10 minute patrol in uniform without their firearm. Even better make a law where law enforcement have to abide by the same rules as other citizens. USA is doomed not because of gun control but due to stupidity. If you make a law, make it where ALL have to abide regardless of job/background. If citizens can’t, cops also. When you make a law but only exempt a certain class that law becomes a privilege. Stop looking at FIREARMS from a MASS SHOOTERS perspective. More people die from speeding. Do we ban cars that goes over 50mph?

I thought that they just wanted to ban those scary assault weapons- which they did several years ago. Now they want to ban other guns too ?
