Psychosis isn't rage, it's loss of connection to reality.
People who have a psychotic break are living in their own world, possibly one where such violence would have been justified.
If she thought he was some monster and she was defending herself from him, she wasn't acting out or rage, but fear.
Not that that changes anything, but it would explain how a drug that usually just mellows people out could lead to stabbing someone 100 times.
And FWIW, it would be a lot more likely from alcohol.
