They will tax people making $150k and in California that’s not much. The rest would be saddled on the shoulders of businesses. People are already fleeing and they already have a heavy tax burden. It’s California and it will be out on the ballot for them to vote on. It probably has a good chance of passing and when it does you know who will do it shortly after.

In theory a plan like this would save money but there's no way that it will in this country. There are way to many people making a fortune in the healthcare industry to allow it to happen.

The whole system is rigged. You're billed $500 for something. Your insurance company says they can only bill you for $350 so that's what you pay. If you don't have insurance you pay the whole $500. Plus the fact that the same procedure can vary by hundreds if not thousands of dollars just based on where it's done.

Actually if you do t have insurance you are charged less. Ask your provider. I’ll bet if you dont have insurance it’s roughly 60% of what your insurance is billed.

Also they claim they will save money by going communist and the government fixing prices. Also they claim the government will manufacture its own insulin if you read the article. Talk about scary and becoming more and more dependent on the government.
I hope this passes and one of two things happen. It costs them twice what they plan on and illegals flood California making it a shithole. Well worse than it is already. Or my other hole is all providers just leave and or drug companies say yeah we can’t sell you that for that price sorry you just don’t get the product now.

Insurance companies keep the billions in pooled funds that never get used up Billions in profits quarter after quarter, year after year.

Can a social health system work in the US? of course it can, will it ever happen, Not if lobbyists have anything to do with it. ANd the second a heath care workers become Government employees it will require 10 of them to do the job of 1 person and they will stop working like most government employees.

No one is in business to break even.
Funny how the government says oh we can make this work, but we will negotiate all prices to be cheaper to do that? I find that as an indication that it probably won’t work. Also by the time you figure out all the hands the money will pass through something tells me the savings won’t really be there like they claim.
California is talking about making its own insulin why? To hide how much it costs? To become communist? This scares me.
