Buddy of mine has a local guy making some parts for his. Similar situation as you. Online purchase, no longer in business. If you're in the WNY area might be able to help.

You seem to be really smart. You decide.

You need someone with a 3D LIDAR scanner and a 3D printer. Most iPhones can be converted to use as a LIDAR scanner with the right software. But complexity of the object counts when LIDAR scanning. It can choke on complicated pieces.

Usually it is the sorters that fail. Obviously I haven't seen the part and my knowledge of 3D printing is very limited, but in my experience it's where the motor attaches. Using cheap PLA filament and printing it flat instead of on an angle compromises the torsional rigidity so it just strips out or breaks off. Most of the components can be duplicated with a set of good calipers and CAD software. Also, unless it's a one off design, the print files are usually available online

Actually, I ☆AM☆ really smart, and rather talented at fabricating certain things. But I'm ☆ NOT☆ clairvoyant, and would need some pictures and measurements to determine whether or not I could make something that would work.
