Nuclear option is a thing now. Good for us at the moment (and probably overall in the long run). If we get another Democrat in office though the tides will have turned and there's nothing we can do about it. Still, at this stage in history, I think it's a good think we can force the nominees through with a simple majority.

The leftists aren't good at getting stuff done. They had the Executive and Legislative branches and couldn't touch immigration, gun banning, or any other programs that they say they care about. They tried to "improve" healthcare, but the lib mantra of "we've got to do something" instead of doing the right thing means they wound up trashing healthcare in this country - but they did it with positive press coverage.

#1- simple majority. Even with the consummate RINO McCain as a probable turncoat we'll have other tricks up our sleeves. Namely.....
#2- there are dems in the Senate that are in Trump winning territory. This midterm some of those dems are up for re-election. With their constituency being Trump supporters their re-election bid, and subsequent political careers could hinge on how they vote to confirm, or not, Trump's nominee.
We might see more dems vote to confirm than many think.

I think zero democrats will vote to confirm. If they vote to confirm Trump the will loose every vote except maybe moderate democrats and a few moderate republicans. I would never vote for a democrat in most cases. I vote for one locally and he’s A rated by the NRA and a descent guy.

Probably true and thankfully it doesn't matter.
The court keeps cranking out 5:4 votes, which is why this is all so crucially important. SCOTUS is just another arm of the nominating party now. Most of the justices are terribly partisan, whether a dem or republican push them through.

We need to fill it prior to mid terms, getting it filled will help demoralize the left and some will stay home come elections. Conversely, if this is up for grabs after the election more leftists will come out to vote.
I predict that RINO Susan Collins of Maine will do her best to screw it up, and if she caves, we can probably count on that not dead soon enough to suit me asshole McCain to then try to stop Trump's pick.

I predict that no matter how many Justices Trump manages to get on the Court, as soon as Dems are back in power, they will simply add seats. SCOTUS will go to 11,13,21 Justices - how ever many they need in order to tip the balance back and get their program back on track.

There's a decent chance that at least a couple of dems will come on board. There are several dems in states that were carried by Trump that are up for reelection in 2018. They may vote to confirm so as not to seem obstructionist immediately before the midterms.
