only asking because there's a member from PA gun forum that purchased a cabin somewhere in the western part of land any way he wasn't sure if getting a shockwave or something for self defense while in cabin since he can't use his PA CCW ! Some other members posted that he could try with local sheriff because NYS allowed people from boarding states that had CCW permits apply in NY if they worked or owned property. but something don't sound right to me especially after the whole safe act Bullshit

I have heard via word of mouth that Broome county is granting same to Susquehanna County PA residents, and those who own property or business but live on the free side of the line. Haven't got anything other than hearsay on that, unfortunately.

Here in Chemung yes same process and application as a NY resident and even have to add the handguns they want to carry here to the license

Yes, NY will now issue permits to part time residents. When I first started coming back up to WNY 10 years ago I couldn't get a permit so I grabbed a Ruger PC9, Mini14 and a Mossberg 500 wood stock fudd gun. We were part time until Feb 2014, and at that time the law had just changed. Still had to do the hoop jumping and waiting, four months in my county.
Conversely, when I bought a place in AZ, it only took a week or two to get my permit, and recognized my FL permit too. Good stuff for retired guys.
