The reasons why shit like this happens is because the majority of LE have the attitude of take no chances by using force, and sorting it out later. It’s a training issue and a cowardice issue. When situations and calls like this happen, there should be one cop on alert while the other investigates.

Kind of like when we conduct searches oversees at checkpoints . One guy covers the other soldier doing the pat downs at the ready or low ready. The guy doing the pat down isn’t doing it in an aggressive manner. He is firm but he isn’t using excessive force to perform the search. There is no “On the ground now or you will be fired upon!” in most cases unless it is a dire situation.

When cops get upset because people don't respect them anymore, guys like this are the reason.

When your uniform or skin color predicts that you are more likely to be a threat, expect to be treated that way.

If you're one of the "good guys" it's unfortunate, but that's just the way it is. Be pissed at the guys who look like you and make that appearance an accurate predictor of antisocial behavior.

People can cry about how unfair or racist it is, how 95% of the people who look like that aren't a threat, etc, etc, but the only thing that actually matters is that the appearance is a useful indicator, and as long as it remains a useful indicator expect people to use it as such.

I believe the operative term is "resisting arrest".
Even if a cop is abusing his/her authority, making a false arrest, etc., if you REFUSE to comply you are now "resisting arrest" and that is what you will be thrown to the ground for and locked up.
you must, at all times, follow each and every order given you by your masters.

There is a distinct difference between "Resisting an Arrest" and not complying with an unlawful order! Sorry... not in every state, does non compliance with unlawful orders, result in an arrest, or constitute "resisting!"

It is your "Right" to not comply with an unlawful order. Like an officer appearing at your door requesting entry absent a warrant, and absent any immediacy (DV call, someone heard screaming inside, etc.) Ummmmm, sorry, but NO!

The real difference lay in whether or not you may physically defend yourself against excessive force, which in almost all States, is no longer a valid defense for a citizen.

If an officer is rendering an arrest, even with excessive force, you're supposed to comply, especially in NY where you're just sheeple to the almighty law givers! Lolz
