I know my kid’s schools, (we’re in East Greenbush School District), are essentially locked and you have to be “buzzed” in on a normal day so I’m not completely clear on what a “lockdown “ is beyond that. Maybe no one comes in OR out and everyone remains in the rooms they are in at the time of “lockdown “? At least that’s how they explained it to me anyhowShouldn’t schools be locked up securely once the school day begins, with restricted/limited/no access at all exterior doors? Why do schools need to “lock down” unless they are not secure to begin with? Oh, so you’re saying schools aren’t as safe as people want to believe they are, and they’re actually protected by spells and incantations from useless, bloated, worthless legislated laws?
“Lock down” sure sounds reactive vs proactive. The biggest problem with being reactive, remember, is that it’s a response to a different action, usually by an opposing force, competitor, rival, etc. You can learn so much in school, yet they’ve taught this country nothing. Makes ya think.
This was also the case in the late 80’s /early 90’s, my high school years. We used to love it when someone called in a boom threat. Dark , I know. But this is how some of the recent graduates or drop outs would get their younger girlfriends out of school as well!remember in 60's and 70's, when it was a bomb threat, move to the woke era and its active shooters
I guess someone didn't do their homework or didn't want to take that exam
Different schools do different things and differing degrees of severity on perceived threat. Any school around here has all exterior doors locked during the day, Lockdown means they are physically locked in the classroom, and depending on the perception of threat, class as normal or lights out, hiding out of sight, etc.Shouldn’t schools be locked up securely once the school day begins, with restricted/limited/no access at all exterior doors? Apparently this is much more widespread than the capital region. There are dozens if not hundreds going on right now.
Yes and no. I am sure they can find the origin of anything, but with the advent of spoofing and VOIP it makes it makes it harder. If it is indeed a coordinated effort it does not take actual people to make the calls, Automated messages, robodialing every school with a published number would not be difficult. With all the surveillance going on nowadays, can't they see where these calls are coming from?
This sounds like a coordinated effort, to make a statement maybe?
