Carbine training Rochester area?

I need some basic training on my AR. Anyone know of a place in Rochester area within a 1 hour drive?

I remebwr Chris Frye of MDTS some years ago saying he didn't offer a carbine class anymore because of the legalities. He couldn't teach the platform the way it was meant to be used, and with so many different configurations to be "legal" in NY it was difficult. Also didnt want to be that guy who got someone in trouble because they brought out a rifle or magazines that weren't NY friendly.

Too bad. They do courses from Massachusetts, to Pennsylvania, and down to Virginia.

Chris Fry doesn't operate in NY anymore. I believe he's in Vegas with one of the bigger training outfits

Correct. He fled NY years ago.

I contacted Hammer Down that I linked in #5. They do a basic NRA rifle course but if I want more advanced training with AR I need to do private lessons. 60 an hour

Is the a sportsmans club, gun club, or shooting range you could go to, and maybe talk with club officers about what you're looking for. A club might have members willing and able to guide an AR newb. Just a thought...

I was thinking about that. Take a walk looking for AR shooters to hang with.
club officers are all shotgun clay shooters so they are no help

I did find 2 but haven’t signed up for anything yet.
Bull Creek - but their dates and my schedule aren’t working.
Hammer Down - but no one seems to know anything about them. It’s private lesson only and I just haven’t had time to schedule anything with them yet. Being that it’s private lesson their scheduling works much better with my schedules.
