Unless she paid at the pump with no intentions of leaving the vehicle's side? Many of us do this. Hell I often leave the keys in my ignition, unless I'm in a skeptical area, which isn't often.Glad it ended well for the kids, but WTF were you thinking leaving two kids unattended in an unlocked vehicle with the keys in the ignition?
Does not excuse the criminal in any way but she is still stupid at best, negligent at worst
With a loaded gun in glove box.... thank heavens it was Texas!Glad it ended well for the kids, but WTF were you thinking leaving two kids unattended in an unlocked vehicle with the keys in the ignition?

Article/video said she went into the store and when she came out, he was in the driver's seat. She got in the passenger side and tried to talk him out. He started to drive away. She took the gun out of the glove box and shot him.Unless she paid at the pump with no intentions of leaving the vehicle's side? Many of us do this. Not a lot of details here unless it was stated in Livingston's 2nd post. I tried to read it but NBC wanted me to remove my add blocker. Not a chance. Especially for a LSM network.

My Jeep will remain running if I step out, since the key fob remains in my pocket.Non of my vehicles have key start; if I'm near the car it will start.
You have a bypass access cover near the shifter in case of needing to move the car. (Never tried to see if it will work)But the Jeep knows I'm not actually IN the vehicle, even when standing next to the door (dashboard says "key fob has left the vehicle") and it will not allow the transmission to be shifted out of Park.

Yep. Unfortunately, different times. I can remember being 5 or 6, home alone or with my little brother waiting for someone to come home.I was left in an unlocked truck with the windows down, no car keys, when I was 8 maybe 9. While my Mom went Grocery shopping.
As far as I know that is to enable getting the trans out of Park when the truck is disabled due to power loss. Never heard if it works in case of the computer putting the trans in park for whatever reason. You have a bypass access cover near the shifter in case of needing to move the car. My parents went to Europe for 6 weeks when I was in elementary school 5th or 6th grade. Had a different "babysitter" (aunt/neighbor/aunt's friend etc) every other day but recall being home alone alot while they were at work etc (not at night though they were there at dinner time and to see me off to school).Yep.
