So, forget about guns. according to a federal agency anyone using a car is using a potentialy dangerous weapon and if you park in the post office parking you are now in violation.
Maybe other federal agencies and offices have other objects that they classify as weapons like bringing a walking cane to a court room.

I get on the back dock at some post offices and almost every one says only a LEO or postal inspector is allowed to carry on premise

You are showing a slight lack of understanding. Anytime you prevent someone from their free movement you have legally arrested them. If I stop someone and question them and they ask if they can go and I say no I have made a legal arrest at that moment. If someone tries to get to their can and I block their way I have legally made an arrest. I do it all the time. Depending on circumstances and cooperation I will either cut them loose or cuff them and call for 5.0 to transport and do the paperwork. There is no such thing as detaining. You’re either arrested or you’re not.
Read further. There is only an exemption if the administrator (super) gives written authorization. This did not exist. The law 400 does not include permit holders as an exemption for schools. In fact the DA stated directly in his press conference that the man is indeed guilty of a felony but he was not going to charge him. Google the case. Buffalo school man with gun. DA Flynn. You’ll see all.

I can only relate these sad posts and attempted attacks to kids on a playground jealous and upset. Maybe confused. Why can he do what I cannot? *temper tantrum* When black and white letter law is cited it is ignored because a few don’t want it to be true. That sign sure is nice. Unfortunately when you pull the law text it states that it cannot fly in conflict of US law and said law lists clear exemptions for lawful carried firearms by lawful persons on federal properties.. Damn! What a waste of a sign!
Judges don’t make law. It’s written in 18 USC exactly. Now if said person doesn’t meet the exemptions then yes they are in violation. Maybe the Gus didn’t have a proper carry permit or was restricted.

Detention and arrest are absolutely two different things. I'm not a LEO or a lawyer and I know that. Detention is temporary custody while investigation of a crime is being carried out. Arrest is custody with the intention of charging and booking that individual into jail while an arraignment date is set.
No, actually if you participate in the initial inquiry and get to a point where there is no additional information that can be offered, willingly or not, or you just get to a point where you do not wish to participate in the investigation, ie, it's not lawfully required just because... And you express your desire to disengage and leave...
At that time the officer involved needs to make a decision! Because you have made clear your desire to not participate and want to go about your business... The decision to "hold" you against your will must be made. You make it sound pretty benign, when it's not. If they hold you they must have a "reason" to do so... And not just because... And yes, in some jurisdictions if they hold you it has been considered an "arrest" or removal of your freedom of movement. And depending entirely upon the circumstances, it can have Subsequent Consequences for both or either the officer and or detainee depending upon their actions thereafter! It gets real complicated!
Simple thing is simple does...
Officer I've answered all your questions to the best of my ability, at this point I'm going to leave unless you're going to arrest me. You don't have to cooperate, and neither does the officer. ie, why am I being held? No answer... And what's your name, where you from, what is your purpose here... No answer!
Now... In some states like NY, you actually have to be informed as to why you're being arrested, that's not true everywhere. AND... In order to be arrested "anywhere" in these United States, the arresting officer MUST be able to establish PROBABLE CAUSE. That's it... End of story! Probable cause is a world away from suspicion, not to confuse the two.

Again 99.999% of the population just isn't going to incur and encounter this type of situation having negative results. I'm not sure why it's so permeated into the subconsciousness of so many. Post some case law of arrest/convictions for violating these P.O. restrictions. Please... Because that will clear up all the speculation!

This topic has gone on long enough. The question has been asked and answered. Both in video briefs by lawyers and cited case law.
