I'm going to visit the strong museum of play and museum of science. I know rochester has a few weird laws for long guns. Any special considerations for carry?

Someone mentioned that Rochester had some shit about cant carry in parks to me when I was going to check out the zoo and the city page backed that up, not sure if that also included museums

I haven't really heard anything. Some guy with a permit had his gun fall out in Victor at a park some years back during a kids' game and people got nuts over it so I think they added signs saying no firearms. I have no idea if that actually carries any weight of law.

I think if its county property.... buildings, parks, etc then carry is not allowed ever. The rest should be looked into if you care to be legal.

Best I can tell you is don’t get caught.
If you do, and someone wants to make an example out of you, you can be arrested and prosecuted for Criminal Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds. Both facilities are home to public/charter grade schools.

You would be ok at the strong museum of play and museum of science. I would be careful of Metal detectors.
I have been to several "off limits" buildings in the Rottenchester area without incident. However, some buildings, such as the Auditorium, now "wand" all people entering. So be alert. If you see a Metal detector, just return to your car and lock it up.

the hospital has been a teaching hospital for 50 years. Hospital security are now armed and can make arrestes. They have the same power as a sheriff

I just moved back and I wouldn’t not want to be carrying in Rochester. One of the routes I frequently take goes by the Avenues and Hudson and just yesterday day I watched some giant dude screaming at two construction workers, body language suggesting on the verge of attacking them, for no reason. Something like this happens every time I drive south of 104, and sometimes north of it as well.

So I'm not going to say anything that I maybe did or did not do, however, I can report back that neither the strong museum of play nor the science museum had and metal detectors, nor did i notice any "no gun" signs on the front doors.
