I didn’t watch. I’m sitting with my wife and I don’t want to hear her on this. I’ll watch later.
Civilians are allowed to be armed similar to the military because we have the right to be.
That and the internet with kids getting bullied 24/7 and the kids being told no physical violence. The anger just builds and builds until it explodes. The #1 problem with mass shootings is unarmed victims.
12 Ga 00 buck.Just imagine them showing the ballistic gel being hit with a varmint type bullet. A soft point, a V-Max, even a good old hollow point...then bring in the video of the REALLY impressive [ read "SCARY" ] projectiles like the Barnes X or the Barnes frangibles. Their hit piece could have had people going into apoplectic convulsions. Actually, I'm rather surprised they DIDN'T show something of the sort. Nor did they bother to mention that there are a great many cartridges that produce considerably higher velocities than the 5.56.
This was just a run-of-the-mill hit piece. No substance, just emotion and the suggested conclusion you are supposed to arrive at. If they really wanted to make things look bad, they could have done a better job.
12 Ga 00 buck.
Do the ballistics gel comparison there.
Make sure when you do the video the blocks are just large enough to remain intact from the .223 round.
When they splatter all over the place from the 12Ga it will be very dramatic. Not very informative, but if I have learned anything about the state of modern discourse it's that drama beats data every time.

I hear what you're saying, but from the 15th floor window, the effects are not really that dramatic. The media loves to push the AR because, well, EVERYBODY has a 12 ga. They just aren't that scary. The ballistic gel in the video seemed to be just a few feet away. Maybe 10. It also wasn't covered in denim and it didn't contain bones. Still, the drama of the video wasenough to perpetuate the fear of the "military style assault rifle". Like I said though, if they wanted to make it even more dramatic, they certainly could have.12 Ga 00 buck.

12 Ga is large enough to contain a useful explosive payload.

My point was to make a video showing that the AR js much less deadly than the 12 ga deer gun that "everybody" has.I hear what you're saying, but from the 15th floor window, the effects are not really that dramatic. But that's not THEIR point !My point was to make a video showing that the AR js much less deadly than the 12 ga deer gun that "everybody" has.
The goal is to demonstrate the logical failings of them targeting one over the other.
Which is why I am certain *they* would not be making or promoting such a video. But that's not THEIR point !

I'm not about to argue with you on that at all. What you have to remember is that CBS is playing to the people that know literally nothing about guns. They've ALL heard about an AR15, and quite probably, a good number of them could point to a picture of one. Those same people have probably not heard of an M14 ao AR10. Those terms mean nothing to them.An Ar10, M1A are way more "deadly" than an AR-15 and just as readily available
