Im glad they caught this guy, and i hope he is punished severely. Based on what Ive read, his father turned him in. As a father, that is a terrible position to be in. I commend him for his actions. I also feel bad he has to live with this. It doesn't seem like this is the type of stuff he would have taught his son, the kid was likely radicalized through school.

There are defiantly some questions that need to be answered here…why is this guy unholstering a gun, tucking it under his arm, then Kirk gets shot and he reholsters.

The video is terrible, but I don’t see a muzzle blast/flash or any recoil.

Maybe. Shooting targets and shooting humans is or should be much different. Shooting him in the neck like that while moving talking and others around is more complicated but as stated can be done.
I’d still like to know more about his background. There more to this than making the shot. He planned this and planned it well enough that he got away.

The odds that he was aiming for the neck are vanishingly small.

But the odds he was aiming for COM at 200 yards and hitting the neck instead are pretty good.

I was going to ask if a 70 year old crack head, rapists life is worth the same of a 17 year old honor student and athlete. No, all lives do not have the same value. All lives have value but some have more than others based on life choices, in my opinion.

From Soldier accounts in the Sand Box, one of the problems they were having with Plates is spall and deflection into the wearer...
Given the reported caliber (30'06) strike area and Distance, I'm surprised else wasn't hit with a passed through round....has a Bullet been recovered?

Once again my thought may come out differently than the way I wish they will , but,

Charlie Kirk was yes a political activist and a media contributor and as such he was known by millions
Much in the way that Walter Cronkite ir even Hoda Kotb is/are and in that sense they carry a bit more baggage of exposure to the public than say your neighbor two streets over and 5 houses farther down.
They to someone are just as important, but their exposure is reduced by circumstance

In the end According to the Bible ,we all return to the dirt inwhich we rose , which makes us all the same , but I can sure tell you this, some people go out of their way to be better in our creators eyes than others

The penalty for murder should definitely be applied equally along the board. A human life is a human life. But t he "shock and awe" factor is not the same for each individual.

He wasnt moving, he was sitting. The only.movement was a little back and forth to grab the mic.

Shooting was most likely aiming Center Mass as he should be, and this was the "miss small" margin.

I am not sure where all this lore about the armor and ricochets he was wearing came from. Soft armor is bulky and unless crafted into the tshirt itself would be noticeable. 30-06 will sail right right through soft armor. IMO there is a zero percent change he had a plate, You would see it all day long.

Then there is this, It sure looks like you can see his nipples. No armor of any kind allows that.

That makes sense and I can see your point. This was certainly more visible being a public event with thousands of attendees present.

I have the position that a human life is a human life and that I can't really call one more valuable than another. Killing people just going about their lives, even if you disagree with them is not OK. He said some pretty odious stuff, but that's not a valid reason to kill someone - as far as I know he never directly harmed anyone through action.

No way he had body armor on. Plates and carriers are bulky. If that's a picture of someone with a plate on, they he would need to have an impossibly small body frame.

Exceptionally good. The shooter was in a elevated position and Kirk was in a sunken stage. Shooting up or down hill results in bullet impact will be higher than point of aim. The shooter obviously was not overly familiar with this concept.
