You should be speaking to the NYSP, pistol permit office in your county or a NY lawyer familiar with the unSAFE Act.

Just because you heard something on the internet does not make it true

No I dont take anything on the internet as gospel. I'll ask a thousand questions and do my research from various sources. But I do take into account and verify some of the information provided by others who live in my county and have actually gone thru the process.

I would trust the info offered here - and backed up by my own research - before I'd trust info from either State Police or the local Pistol Permit office. Just sayin'.

The info I offered is what I received from the county pistol permit office.

7 "easy" steps

A. Purchase receiver
B. Purchase barrel
C. Submit amendment form checking box for "frame only".
D. Include receipt for barrel showing length and caliber
E. Receive amended permit
F. Assemble parts in compliance with unSAFE Act
G. Go to range

Wonder if they manage P80s the same way. From a consistency perspective, I would think so. I may see what happens with that. Could see if they get a chuckle from a FUACxxxx serial number.

So would I. However, I'm guessing the poster doesn't know you, me, or anyone else who replied. Therefore, his response to the judge would likely be, 'it must be true, I heard it on the internet'. That isn't the best defense, so I'm told

Lived out this way for about a year now. I spent 10 years prior living in the peoples republic of NYC. Prior to that I lived in Miami, Fl. and had a concealed carry for years after I left the military.
I'm by no means an expert at anything in life. Hoping you guys could steer me in the right direction putting a nice AR-15 together with avoiding prison time at all cost.
