Chili and Boycotts

I have an award-winning “Almost Vegan!” chili that I make every year. By award winning, I entered a contest at my daughter’s school and received a $25 gift card to the local car wash. (I didn’t ask (out of pride) whether everyone got a gift card or if I was special. I just know I won a ‘major award.’)

At the chili cook off at school, I was going through the line trying other people’s concoctions when I heard a lady ahead of me say, “I don’t want vegan chili! Gross!” I was being boycotted, but I had to laugh. If she had taken the time to read my list of ingredients before lambasting me, she would have seen that the “almost” part came from the 2.5 pounds of grass-fed ground beef I used for flavor.

Which brings me to the subject of boycotts. If a business or corporation is anti-gun, I first make sure they are truly anti-gun before cutting them off. For example, Walmart doesn’t sell guns at all their stores. I still shop at Walmart for the time being, but should they jump on the “common sense gun control bandwagon”, I’ll take my business for cheap junk somewheres else.

Here is a list of non-2A friendly corporations. I am able to avoid all but 3. How about you? What’s your stand on boycotts?

Just curious why under armor? They have lots of patriotic things on their clothing. Maybe something I don’t know.

Didn't see Dicks on the list I have a real problem patronizing them since their CEO went anti-gun a while back...

I run a business where alot of clients do not have the same views as me.
They know where I stand because I sometimes have a 357 Magnum on my side while dealing with them.
I know where they stand because they comment about the 357 Magnum on my side.
I see people quite often when they are desperate and emotional but I have never had anyone stop comming to my clinic because of my pro gun views.
I know people who work at some of the companies in your post.
The people I know are diehard gun nuts with families who rely on a paycheck.
So, unless a company is activity involved in efforts to disarm me, I could not care less.
In this political climate companies almost need to say they are anti Trump and anti gun.
This does not mean their workers are anti.
