But how many of those who get the game tags are fudds who are perfectly content incrementally giving up rights to our own government during times of peace and prosperity and safety and comfort. Fudds are always used as examples of "I got my deer rifle no one needs an AR-15".
In ww3 fighting with china how many of those same individuals would instantly turn their guns in when they were promised some food when they are starving. How many would turn on their neighbors if they were told cooperating would keep them out of the reeducation camps?
Many of those hunters are also minors, women, older folks, not all hunters are even capable of actually engaging in some type of guerilla campaign. And like mentioned you might just have some random uncoordinated individuals causing trouble who would be dealt with harshly and made examples of. Countries like china don't care about losing troops to them it's just a number.

Compare success insurgencies, they tend to be formed by very highly motivated and hardened civilian populations that have a great degree of loyalty, familiarity, cohesiveness, homogeneous, a unified goal, shared values, and a willingness to experience hardship while staying true to their vision. Honestly most Americans are too soft And pampered and we can't cooperate now with things in relative peace and comfort and abundance. When things go off the rails I don't know how Americans would respond.
Obviously there will be very effective militias, neighborhood defense, veterans groups etc but they won't be everyone all the time. We won't be positioning battalions around a campaign theater, it will just be some random squad size groups all operating independently with mixed success.

Good question. My guess a small percentage at first. If things stabilize more could convert for their safety. You never know how people are going to react when their self preservation is at stake. My doctor of nearly 25 years who never prescribed meds and always spoke highly of the bodies ability to heal itself through proper diet and exercise was completely double masked up with face shield because of a virus that had a 99.5% surivability rate at my last physical.

Fair question. A very small amount the 14 million FUDDS and tactical junkies could actually recognize fertile land and successfully grow food. They're called war lords for a reason. To think it wouldn't be the same in that situation here is comical. Leaders have to be ruthless at times as human nature necessitates it. But many go too far and get replaced so it would take time to build real leaders, alliances and be an effective force against an annexed region of the country. Yes I said annexed.

No. They wouldn't try and not for the reasons you think. If they did though It would eradicate entire communities with extreme force. China has no history of nation building. Centralized command and control is by far the most efficient way to conduct a war, but it is not the only way.
But, a large but inefficient force can defeat a small but efficient one.
The bottom line is "what does victory look like for China in this invasion ? "
When the US has failed it's because they failed to answer that question, or failed to actually pursue that answer.
What soft of victory can they achieve in the face of such a widespread opposition?
But this is all an academic discussion a Chinese invasion of the continental US would never happen, for about a dozen reasons.
China doesn't really *have* a blue water navy. They may have a few ships, but they don't have the capacity to project naval power beyond their own back yard.
The US Navy could mop the floor with *all the rest* of the world's navy's put together.
Almost all of the nation's that *do* have a blue water navy are close allies of the US anyway.
If China managed to somehow eliminate the US navy and allies, they have no ability to overcome US airpower defending the coastline.
If they managed to eliminate the airforce too, they have no ability to deploy a significant force halfway around the world. The only country with the logistic ability to come even close is the US.
If they managed to land half a million troops, they have to way to keep them supplied.
If they managed to land them and keep them supplied, they would *still* have to contend with the US army.
Remember what the US looked like after 9/11 ? That was a couple buildings. Imagine what things would look like with foreign troops on US soil. The mobilization from WWII would look like a boy scout jamboree by comparison. Think more like the British during the blitz and their preparation to defend against an invasion.
Unlike them, we *have* more than enough guns to arm everyone capable of pulling a trigger. And they *would* be organized, by the government. Just like the British were.
We have by far the most heavily armed militia in the history of man, and they would *not* remain unorganized in the face of an invasion. The military would have officers in every town training and organizing anyone who would show up.
And they would all show up. From the gang bangers of Chiraq to the good old boys of Georgia, if you attempt to invade the Mainland US you will have pissed them all off.
Sure, there will be a fair number of useless leftists, but they will be quickly told to just stand in the corner while the real men get the job done.
Uninvited Chinese troops on American soil would put a very quick end to the tolerance that has allowed that foolishness to flourish.
