I heard it was 2 years and 2 months.
When he first came out denying guilt I suspected there was some tomfoolery that had fine on and he was really innocent....and he spoke as if there was no way he was guilty.
I, along with many others, just can't understand why he decided this was a good idea. I'd think his actions would've been blatantly obvious, guaranteeing investigation, and ultimatley bringing repercussions. It"s not like the stock loss wouldve ruined him. I just can't see the logic in his decision.

Not saying he didn't do it -- since I'm not following this as much as others -- but with questions like those, it's hard to not speculate on something more nefarious going on. When the risk seems insane to take, you have to wonder.

When this first came out he made out like there was no way he was guilty and I thought there was no way he was. How could you do something so blatantly obvious and not think no one would notice, so I assumed he was innocent.

Here's my opinions, I constantly rail against government corruption. The Clinton's, bidens, pelosi, Reid etc.. they're all guilty. They all deserve prison. They've done the same things and worse than Collins. Think about it, how exactly do you become obscenely wealthy as an elected official if you aren't breaking the law?
With that being said Chris Collins did the same thing and it's only consistent if I say the same thing. He deserves prison. His selfish greed and arrogance cost his district a lack of congessional representation and it gives Herr Monkey face a say in when and how the special election to replace him happens. He should never have gone for reelection. Period. For him to make the statement he did, it shows his extreme arrogance.
Sure, my skeptic intuition says he was only singled out (because let's be real I'm sure 90% of representives do the same or worse) because he was one of the very first to come out and publicly endorse and support president Trump. They want to make an example out of him and put him through the ringer. (he deserves it), but at the same time so does everyone else and he's the only one that will ever have to answer for it.

How would you feel if you had invested in the company where Collins was inside trading and you lost your shirt? He basically got away scot fee and is now sitting comfortably in his Florida beach house. With any hope, this will go to civil suit and he will be out on the street.

It's not an insane risk when everyone else does it but you're the one who actually gets caught.
