You are probably right but (to me) that's the point, and while I don't buy guns to have them appreciate, I can see these going the same as other CMP hardware over time (harder to get, at lower qualities, and more expensive). I haven't really looked at CMP stuff for a while so may be wildly offbase- if I am, good.

I'm not really even a 1911 guy, but I'd like to have one of these. To paraphrase Dr. Seuss, "Oh the places you may have been."

By you means am I saying that they are bad. They are a collectors piece with historical significance. I think a new and better pistol can be bought for the same or less money, but its great that they will be available for the guys that want an authentic iconic military pistol.

A friend owns a Colt that dates to the 1920s and it shoots well, I own a CZ that was a limited run. Mine is not a true mil spec because it has a handful of "upgrades" but looks enough the part for me.

Not worth the money in my opinion. There was many people that denied they would be a $1,000, but here’s proof. Not worth it and not interested.

No pre inspection so you get what they give you. Pricey. But a piece of history. If you get a Colt, you can probably get a letter for it.

If you get a colt it’s worth the money if not likely not worth it.

A WWII era 'other' manufactured gun is probably worth more than a 70's era Colt.

Its going to be interesting to see what era guns are released.
