He used his journalistic credentials to dig up dirt on women accusers. That's like a cop using his badge to obstruct investigation of his relative.

Using contacts he made through his job would probably not have been a big deal.
But misrepresenting his interest in some topic to them as being for CNN and not his brother probably would.
And using CNN staffers to do research to benefit his brother would be a major breach.

A journalist has an ethical obligation to remain un-biased. (We all know that this is violated every day, by both left and right leaning pundits.) But using your connections in the media to protect an accused person and looking to dig up dirt on the accusers to discredit them is way beyond unethical. It's akin to a politician who has insider trading knowledge due to their job and uses that info for personal gain, or a cop covering up evidence in an investigation to protect a family member.
