The CNN survey, carried out from August 12-15, found that Democratic candidate Joe Biden and his running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris had a national 4-point advantage over Trump and Vice President Mike Pence at 50%-46%.

I'm still pessimistic about Trump's odds because my favorite poll aggregator (2020 Election Forecast) says he's down 72:28. And that includes other polls showing him trailing a lot.

But, I know at least a couple of people here have no doubt whatsoever that Trump will win. And this is a big swing for CNN. Also, it shows Trump's gap shrunk in battleground states.

I've said it many times before. 538 was on top of their game last election, and the one before it. They gave trump around a 30% last time and his win was within their margin of error, quite comfortably. Many polls were not as accurate. I think NY time gave clinton a 95%+ which I assume is the highest confidence their model allows for.

NY times sucks Although statistically speaking his win was given an 8% chance.

My favorite thing on election night was still seeing the gauge on nytimes that would update real-time. And it was redlined at 95%+ for hillary on election night, then as the night got going it started to unwind a little bit and the odds went down. Then over the period of an hour or so it went all to shit. I could not believe it.

You all need to remember that there is a huge silent majority that supports Trump. Think about it and this is why he won in 2016.
It was also a proven fact back then as well. If a female polled another female they would say I’m voting for Hilary even though they voted for Trump. The media has made people ashamed to say they will vote for Trump even on polls. Time will tell but I think it will be a very close election IMO.

I don’t think polls are inherently biased, but I also don’t know who participated in these polls.

A poll of 200 people with 80% favoring Biden has no correlation to a national election or the electoral college votes. I'll pay attention to the numbers around 10pm on election night.

I also don't think polls are biased, as long as they aren't polls involving politics.

If the polls are political polls, I believe the total sum of zero due to bias. I believe every single political poll has an agenda. As I continually reiterate, 2016 presidential polls proved this beyond any shadow of a doubt.

The choice of which poll to report in any given week on the other hand is carefully calculated to increase readership and push an agenda.

Think of the news reporting on the election like a sportscaster reporting on a game. You don't see sportscasters say "well, it's a done deal, you might as well watch something else" at halftime, no matter how lopsided the game is.

What we learned from the last Elections is that when given two horrible choices americans take the less harmful one.
You give the options between the the flu and gonorreah adn they will go with the flu.
So the polls might say 99% chance Biden-Kamalatoe winning but Americans say one thing and when it comes to
voting they do another.
A different story is the amount of fraud that is going to be introduced in this election.
