Personally I don't poke fun at people that are in my boat. I take my gun rights and all my other rights seriously.

Now on to your question as to "What have you done?"

Well let me think about that for a moment. I am a NRA certified Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun Instructor. I have my own shooting range which
many of my friends use every week. I write my Reps on issues as can be seen here.

Please know that I am a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment. When I was sworn into office to represent the North Country, I took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. The right to keep and bear arms is an individual liberty protected in our founding documents.
As a gun owner and a card-carrying member of the NRA, I strongly oppose legislation and any executive actions that infringe on the rights of law-abiding citizens to bear arms. As your representative in Congress, I will work to defend your constitutional liberties, including your Second Amendment Rights.
With that in mind I thought you would be interested to know that I have cosponsored H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. This piece of legislation protects law-abiding gun owners when they travel between states. It also provides the legal framework to take action against states or localities that infringe on the provisions defined in this bill. Please be assured I will continue to work with my colleagues and explore ways to ensure the federal government does not infringe on our constitutional liberties.

And where has that gotten you in regards to writing Liberals and Rhino Republicans?

I say this because before the Unsafe Act, I called Skelos's office many times. I posted on his Facebook page and emailed him. It was a grand waste of my time. Then the list came out of who voted for it. There were a lot of Republicans who did.

Now we have reciprocity on a federal level. Guess what? They don't want it. If they did, it would have passed already.

The politicians will do what they will do. The NRA will do what they will do. I've learned that lesson. I no longer trust in them or the NRA. Neither want these bills to pass.

Rule one, I do not vote for liberals or McCains and I have no problem writing either one and voicing my opinion. Squeaky wheels get the grease
in this world. If you do a SGT. Schultz you get nothing.
The NRA lives on conflict. They play their members for every dime they can get. It does not behoove them to end conflicts and kill the golden goose and that is my opinion.

your Rep Tom Reed is pretending to be pro second amendment. I find that a bit odd as the NRA has rated him an A and it appears he is quite Pro
second amendment. Perhaps you can point out to this unknowing one why you made that statement and what you have to back it up with.

Fuck the safe act but where were these guys prior to the safe act? When NY decided after the Clinton AWB ended and we had a modified version of that, "oh well we can have most of what we want so we are good." Few years later safe act, "i am a huge supporter of the 2a and will do everything I can to protect those rights blah blah blah

Or ok even before that Sullivan Act of 1911, meh why work at trying to get ride of that as most New Yorkers dont even know about that, 100 years later safe act "I have always fought for NYers 2a rights and we need to stop the safe act because blah blah blah" ie election time is coming up and this is new and it really shows how fucked the laws were before but people were given a little bit of cake to keep then content

I recall being chided for having read this thread with mixed skepticism, LOL. Yeah, been around the block more times than I care to remember I suppose. Personally, I support the NRA but understand the frustration that some NY'rs feel. They do a ton to support shooting sports, gun ranges, etc that I think alot of NY'rs tend to forget. OK Ed, My take at this time on SAGA is it is DOA. Regardless of what I think you never know what the outcome will be. I think what gripes most people is the Safe gun act as most that owned those so called bad weapons never registered them and now they sit hidden in their homes hoping
the government never comes for them. I do not have any so called illegal assault weapons and if I did I would bury them somewhere off my property.
I personally only know of one person who lost his unregistered assault weapons. The State Police took them away after he was adjudicated a mental defective. His other weapons were transferred to a family member. His assault weapons could have been transferred to his family member if he had registered them. He was not charged with any crime in the mater. The one thing you have to keep in mind is NY is a democrat controlled state and most people live in cities where hunting is not permitted. These people only see the use of weapons in a bad way, meaning people shooting people in cities. If that was all you ever saw you might well be anti-gun. I have known many from the city that were pro-gun also but overall there are few.

When you consider a NY City pistol permit is good for the whole state but a NYS pistol permit is not good in NY City you have to wonder about
what makes NYC so privileged. I don't like the system but I have to deal with it as I can. Vote and Voice you opinion to your Reps is about all you can do.
