COLONIE, N.Y. -- Colonie police say they're investigating an armed robbery that happened overnight at the Domino's on Central Avenue.
The call came in just after 3:30 a.m. Monday.
Police say two men, who were armed with guns, took cash and an employee's cell phone before going out the back door.
Less than $3,000 was stolen and the employee's cell phone was found in the restaurant, police said.
"She was told to wait a certain amount of time before calling police, which she did. She then looked for her phone for a little bit of time before contacting us. She couldn't find it so she used the store phone to call us. So, there was a significant delay between when they left the store and our officers were called. It was probably around 10 minutes,” said Lieutenant Robert Winn, with the Colonie Police Department.
One of the suspects had a shotgun and the other had a handgun. Both men covered their faces with bandanas and were wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts.
Police also say the men got into the store through the back door.
