Just posting this up (thanks to @Edwardteach72) in case anyone here has one of these. I have one of the newer CR6920's and it is effected by this recall. The issue is just with the hammer apparently. It seems it can fire a round upon reset, like a binary trigger, only unexpectedly. As cool as that could be, it is dangerous if you aren't expecting it to happen.

Being that this is an easy enough fix, I'm wondering if I should send it back to Colt so it's officially fixed (thinking resale) and potentially get some swag or should I just replace the hammer myself? I likely have another hammer or even complete fcg in my parts bin I could throw into the rifle myself and be done with it. Or use it as an excuse to buy a new fcg?

I'd 'fix' it myself, with upgraded parts. You have the knowledge, experience and the parts sitting there.

Personally I hate sending things back, unless I absolutely have to.

I know. It is a super easy fix and I do not like the idea of sending it back either, honestly. Especially since it is looking like we will be moving to a different address soon. It would be great if they gave the option to send you the parts to fix yourself and send back the bad parts, but I guess there are maybe legal issues with doing that?
The rma and shipping box is here, I just have to pack the lower up abd send it back. I wonder what happens if I don't and just fix it myself? Since it's already in Colt's system as coming back for repairs...

I've fixed more than one firearm I've purchased, that wasn't right from the factory, cuz I hate the hassle....it's MY firearm, and I will give it personal and individual attention...I am VERY detail-oriented and...I will fix it right, the first time, with upgraded parts, for better than new performance.

Are you letting them "get away with one"? Maybe so.

If binary triggers and ammo weren't so expensive, I'd throw one of those in. I do like the Rise Armament drop in trigger I put in my other AR a while back. If LaRue has any MBT-2s triggers left, I may grab one of those.
