Colt Python 3" - Opinion

So, I understand that Colt is reissuing the Colt Python in 3"...

I'm interested in opinions, especially of anyone who may have owned or actual shot an older one. General opinions on the Colt Python is appreciated too. All outside the obvious over pricing, lol... And if I do obtain one, I plan to carry and shoot it, no safe queen! I have none of those

I went to my LGS that had a few Colt Pythons, the 6" and the 4.25"... I wouldn't consider the 6" but might possibly consider the 4.25". Mark up was pretty considerable (20%) over SRP. So there's that too as it would represent about 50% of the purchase price for a Ed Brown Custom! But a wheel gun has always been on my "want" list, lol. The EB Custom is a "must have" list but later is ok. The Python is a now thing because you know it will be a limited release, then gone for who knows how long?

You only YOLO once! If I could afford one I would buy one. I think they are beautiful revolvers. Much nicer than a 686 and GP100.
I've never had the pleasure of handling one, so I can't help you there, but it seems you want one to use it, so you want one for the right reasons. If you don't end up liking it, there will always be a market for them. Even if you don't get as much back because it's been used, you'll still fetch a pretty penny and have had the saticfaction of scratching that itch.

Yeah, I handled a 6" many moons ago, a .44mag too. But the Colt wheel gun was a hoot! Friends gun, and we were at the range, funny as shit because he had a gallon baggie filled with loads (his). Some were benign .38, and some were hot .357mag... Well I loaded without paying much attention to the loads and it was plink, plink, BOOOOM!!!

Hahahaha... I've wanted one since!

My Sig 229 .357Sig is nice with the hot loads but the slide/blowback absorbs much of the kick.
