I work for the government and we’re having issues hiring people. The government jobs should never not be filled.

All the landscaping jobs I have done this year have been $100-$125/hour in my pocket. Last job was $400 in three hours, job before that was $460 in three hours. One job wasn't even an hour and I got $130-$140. People are just happy I’m showing up and calling them back. No one has batted an eye. Last job I quoted they told me the other guys quote and it was almost three times my quote. $1,400 for a few hours of work. I was amazed.

Some towns are hiring school bus drivers STARTING at $22 an hour, including paid training to obtain the CDL and endorsements needed, top benefits, state retirement, more paid time off than you can shake a stick at, and if you can swing it financially, summers off..Very few takers..

My DIL is an assistant mgr at Pet Smart.. Easy work, clean environment, no hassles, flexible schedules,starting money somewhere in the $20+ an hour range... perfect for a young kids first job.. Think about it.. Young kid works just a weekend, brings home $300 or close to it... Enough for a car, insurance, gas, spending money to go out once in a while, and maybe throw the parents a few bucks for their keep once in a blue moon.. They can find NO one to work, to the point they are becoming desperate..


I just have trouble comprehending exactly why this is going on.

Many low skill jobs are now in the $20 and up range.They are everywhere. No experience, no real talent or skill needed , and you can find work anywhere starting at $800 a week?... And they are desperate to get anyone they can, and will do anything they can to accommodate an a new employees needs.

I don't get it.. Don't people have to work to eat??.. Is EVERYONE suckling at the teat of the state these days?
