Im just saying, cracking someone in the mouth because they got out of line was normal for me. nobody called the cops . it was understood. A lot of the guys I worked with were convicts. They weren't ""nice people"" . So I guess when I see something like this , its a nothing burger to me.

I didn't know what it was but it sounded like it broke and then he stepped on it. The cop did lose his temper but who doesn't?
Years ago I thought about law enforcement but I'm to opinionated and a bit out spoken. As far as the driver goes, he had no business poking his nose where it didn't belong.

The dope smoker had all of his dope in a can that was not the original container from the dope store. Illegal in Connecticut. If one were to look up the law, it says that legal dope in a non legal container is a misdemeanor and can carry a fine of $2000. The copper absolutely lost his temper. He looked quite foolish on the video, I say, "oh Well". Not really bothered by his unprofessional rant.

Life goes on and he did not take the dope smoking punk to jail. No car impound, no life altering event.

The doper should have thanked the cop for being lenient

He got an ass chewing for possession of marijuana, speeding, and mothing off at the cop. There are worse things in life to worry about.

What you described is my world. At least it used to be, now punk ass, wanna be tough guys start trouble, get taught a lesson, then call the cops and press charges.

But to your point, if a grown man acts/talks like this to another grown man in my world it will likely turn into something physical. You dont speak to someone in this manner, and with that level of aggression without repercussions. In this case, the guy is a cop and it would not be smart to put hands on.

Ill also say that this cop is an asshole that appears to have an anger problem, the citizen did provoke him by asking him why he was speeding, and not that cops shouldnt be questioned if they are doing something wrong, but it doesnt seem like he was. From what i gather he was going to pull someone else over.

It’s all BS. Who the fuck really cares what you put into your body or what container a legal substance is in? This war on drugs is for one reason and one reason only. An excuse to infringe on rights. If there was no war on drugs, there would be no reason to search cars. You would just be ticketed and be on your way.

There would be no need for so many cops on the roads.

Ok you put plastic in your paper recycling and your garbage man starts screaming and cursing at you , threatens to kill you. Is that appropriate? No other job in the world that kind of action would be tolerated. He should be fired , he has anger issues and should not have authority over free people. They are public servants , It’s unprofessional serves no purpose, made him look like a fool . If the guy broke a law , smile give him a ticket and move on.

This is a statement that should NOT have been made. Hell, if anything, COVID has calmed many things with certain jobs. Extreme stress? Covid or not, that is their job and should be able to handle stress better. Not just the cops, ER Nurses come to mind as well. Firemen as well. Soldiers, most that I know, can deal with stress much better than non-Soldiers. Many of these professions strive for the stress; to use it as an excuse is just weak as all hell.
