Convicted School Shooter Supports Tougher Guns Laws
The gun control movement just got the worst endorsement possible, but because liberals are morons they will hilariously embrace it. A convicted school shooter has come out in support of tougher gun control laws. Putting this another way, someone who ignored existing gun laws to shoot up a school says additional laws will keep people like him from committing shooting sprees.
In 2004, when he was 16, Jon Romano walked into Columbia High School in East Greenbush, NY with a pump-action shotgun. He was intent on racking up a big body count of his fellow students when he opened fire. Luckily a teacher tackled Romano and subdued him before he could carry out his plan. One other teacher was injured in the leg by buckshot, but no students were hit by gunfire.
Romano was convicted of attempted murder and reckless endangerment and is serving a 20-year sentence in the Coxsackie Correctional Facility. He recently wrote a letter to The Times Union urging support for stricter gun laws.
“I know that every time another horrible shooting happens…all of my victims are hurt all over again by what I did to them. I want to take away their pain, but knowing I cannot, I want to prevent others from experiencing this pain,” started Romano.
And here’s what this convicted school shooter has planned:
“I have taken the steps toward this that I can do from prison, and I intend to advocate for gun safety and mental health reform after my release in 2021,” he said.
With an endorsement for the insufferable Parkland, FL student activists:
“Also, I believe the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL are courageous and inspiring for speaking out and demanding action from politicians. Everyone nationwide should follow and accept nothing less than meaningful, life-saving policy changes from their representatives. Only then could this generation be the last generation that lives in a nation plagued by gun violence,” Romano wrote.
So Romano intends to end gun violence by working for the passage of new and restrictive gun control laws? That’s interesting considering how many existing laws he broke to land himself in prison for gun violence, isn’t it?
