I have a ceramic oil lamp made by a local pottery place . It has a ceramic ball that the wick goes through . Put lamp oil or olive oil as they did in the bible and light the wick . Folks throw out rancid cooking oil at times and it would work . Just a thought for SHTF times .Can you describe how it works? What is inside the copper tubing? I am guessing oil of some sort?
I would assume these are meant to be used in some sort of candle holder, not freestanding. That thing looks tippy and the copper is going to get hot, especially as the oil burns down. Using acetone as a fuel, as the guy in the link talks about is just nuts. There are easier and safer ways to make an oil lamp.
