Are they "fine?" I don't personally think so.
Is it the place for government intervention? No.
Are they dictators if they are a voluntary agreement between parties? Absolutly not.

Exactly 100%. And then the company has to operate in such a way to quash any competition. So google isn't even close to a monopoly. Even if they were the only search engine available there is nothing they are doing to disallow others from emerging.

Google has about 92% market share in search. That is enough that nobody else can get started. Virtually all web pages on the internet are now designed around google search algorithms.
The few hangers on are not enough "competition" to matter, google dictates the landscape everyone operates in.
As for abusive business practices, they are not required to be a monopoly, they *are* what anti-monopoly legislation is designed to prevent. That's why ma bell was allowed to exist for so long, they were obviously a monopoly, but they weren't considered to be engaged in anti-competitive behavior.
Any answer along the lines of "if you want to compete with Google, just build your own internet" is ridiculous.
