Planning on doing some coyote hunting. I’ve never been before. From a little internet research, my plan is to use an electronic call placed at the edge of a field, sit about 150 yards away across the field, and remotely activate the call. Any suggestions? Time of day or night? And finally, let’s say I’m successful - how much does it cost to turn an average dead coyote into a coyote pelt? I’d be in the Delaware/Greene county area.

I’ve never “hunted” coyotes so I dont know much about calling them, etc.
The ones I’ve killed have all just been random opportunities.
That being said, I do have a pelt that I think cost me around $150 total to have done. That was the taxidermist skinning it and having the hide tanned. It was worth it to me not to have to screw with skinning it.

Don't put your caller that far away, mine is usually 30 or so yards out. 99 out of 100 times the yote is going to circle downwind to approach. Most times getting them within 50 yards of the caller is what you want. Approach your location so they don't cross your trail or game over. Start softly on the call, they can hear way better than you can. Start with something rodent, if you're using a foxpro try baybee cottontail. If nothing shows in 5 minutes I'll amp it up for 30 seconds or so then turn it back down, repeat a few times.
It's mating season now so some female yodels can pull in an anxious male.
I stopped lugging a caller for the most part and went to mouth calls, high pitched and raspy and make it sound as pitiful as you can, they like easy meals.
If you have the equipment night hunting is fun but I love first light for a couple hours. I've seen them in daylight while bowhunting and coaxed a few in as I always have a call in my pocket. Never been able to stick one though. They seem to want to circle until they can spot what's making the commotion and scent my trail.
Skinning is easy, lots of YouTube vids to walk you through, then find someone to tan it, shouldn't cost more than 75 bucks. You can get a home tanning kit but it's alot of work.

@Redshirt if you skin it and roll it up and freeze it I’ll flesh it and send it in with mine next year 80$ I just finished boarding what I have so far and I’m done any that I shoot now are gonna wait till November in the freezer
