Cracked primer.

The other day I was shooting some targets with my Shield 9mm.
After a few rounds, one did not fire.
I cleared the gun and found this.
The primer was struck but did not fire.
Did this happen from the firing pin or was this primer cracked before loading?
Ive never seen this before.

Yup. Primer went in sideways.

Ya I would email them the picture. I also agree will above sideways seated primer. I thought they passed a high speed camera to check those.

I found a primed case, no projectile or propellant in a box of Winchester white box earlier this year.

Of the trillions of rounds factory produced there's bound to be a blooper now and then. If only car manufacturers had a quality control rate as high as this.

Send them a picture and lot# or an empty box. They usually replace the whole box, when this happens.

Same here. Crushing it all the way in was the only way to get the brass out of the shell holder.
