Hey everyone! I am looking to buy a Crickett .22 or similar .22s for cheap for a project I am looking to start. It can be in any condition or color. The new ones go for $99, but I figured that someone might have an old used one that they might be willing to let go for a low price. Thanks!

I also have air rifles that I can trade for it.

Have a couple of them that I had considered giving away as karmas to someone with small kids that could use it but the whole transfer BS put me off to that. You'll probably wind up paying more to have background check than for rifle. Good luck would help you out if it weren't for unSAFE. FUAC.

Thank you for the response on my thread! I could not agree more with how backwards and ineffective the background NICS check requirement is for private transfers. Although I have been following SCOTUS's decision to moot NYSRPA and it seems like they will take up another case very soon. If things go well, we should get significant decisions with regards to how the court really sees the 2A now. I am feeling lucky even though I shouldn't.

With that said, if you are willing to, I would be very willing to meet for a private transfer at one of your LGS once they reopen. The max rate they charge for private NICS is $10, and only I would have to fill out anything. It would be awesome. To be honest though, if they are mandating background checks, they should be providing the service for free. FUAC.

Thanks as stated no interest in participating in this scheme for single shot 22 for "cheap" lol. Would much rather hold on to them for my boy or my nephews and nieces. Would probably make a good backpacking rifle now that I think about it lol. Funny thing I bought them long before unSAFE for my boy and he never shot them. Recently has shown interest in shooting but we've moved up a bit size-wise. Good luck man wish I could help but more hassle than it's worth. You can pick up something new for less than $100.

Ah I understand. Thank you anyways. And I agree, they seem to be good platforms for backpacking. My goal is actually to design and then publish files for a 3D printed takedown stock for backpacking, so I figured if someone had a broken one or heavily used one I would feel less bad about disassembling.

So how would this work and where are you located? Do you actually need to transfer to pattern a stock? What parts do you actually need?

I am located near Queens on LI. I'm brand new to 3D modeling, but to design it I would be looking for at least whichever piece connects to the stock. From what I can see in this picture I found, the attachment point is a part of the actual receiver. However, I suppose if I had some accurate measurements I might not need anything physical to start designing.

There' in lies the rub. The piece that connects to stock is the receiver which needs an FFL and background check. Silly question why wouldn't the stock work and just take a negative impression with modeling clay or the like? Or a cast of the receiver? BTW I own two but neither are crickets. I'm not sure what brand they are actually.

A negative impression of the stock might work if I had the tools to measure that negative impression. I don't think it would work I end up going with a completely different design than the one I have in my head right now. For example, if my current plan doesn't work maybe I will go simplistic and try to model one similar to the M4 in picture below.
Although a cast of the receiver would be pretty good if it could then be accurately measured. Perhaps I will just make a new post tomorrow requesting for measurements.

Dude I'm not that far away maybe we could meet for a cup of coffee and you can take whatever info you need. As stated they are not Crickets but small single shot 22s none the less.

Think one might be a Gibson? Bought both of them off predecessor gun forum (pre 2013) so maybe member here recalls what they are.

That is very generous of you to offer. I know this is not what you meant, but I just laughed at the thought of measuring a rifle inside a coffeeshop LOL. Do you think the model is still in production/is it common? If I can track one down online to buy later it might make sense to design it now and test it later.

I dont have access at moment I'll take a few pics and post in a few days. Happy to help just want to keep things above board no matter how idiotic they seem...
