I am looking at a Barrett Ghost 410. Anyone familiar with it? I don’t know much about crossbows but it looks like a nice one. Any advice would be appreciated .
I haven't seen him post in a while, maybe he will pop in to share his expertise.@Chicken Shoot is knowledgeable on this topic.
I feel the same way. I don’t use mine for fun just for hunting. I don’t think they are meant to be shot and used a lot honestly since I’m not sure they would hold up to that use, but great point and very worthwhile to be brought up and discussed here.I bought a pretty nice crossbow a couple years ago. Very accurate, hard hitting, great for hunting. The biggest downside I found it its about as fun to shoot recreationly as a muzzle loader. By the time you fiddle fuck around with the cocking device you are looking at 2 shots a min, maybe 3. I have a lot more fun with a compound bow.
All weapons need practice. Can't practice without use. If they break, ya gotta fix em.I feel the same way. I don’t use mine for fun just for hunting. For sure. I just mean I’m not sure they would withstand excessive use. More so the cocking device than the crossbow, but also not many places sell parts for these crossbows from what I understand. All weapons need practice. Can't practice without use. If they break, ya gotta fix em.
You’ll like it. As stated it’s not something you’ll shoot a hundred times in an afternoon, but I don’t think it’s something you’ll need to do that with to be proficient.I have never owned a bow of any kind, so I am learning as I go. Just got it because it is something new for me to learn and have a little fun with. Got a lot to learn.
