A sheriff walking next to a county vehicle that is in a parade and unaware it might violate the Hatch Act is a bit different than knowingly dispatching a state truck, driven be state employees, to pick up and deliver political campaign matetial for the sitting governor. This was not a case of Cuomo walking next to a police escort vehicle during the gay pride parade. Ooops.

You're absolutely right. Cuomo was nowhere near the truck at the time. It doesn't matter what the law says. People like Cuomo act as if it doesn't apply to them. There are simply no real consequences.
