Yes, they have. When I sold my house in NY and moved to NC, I was hit with a 1% tax because I did not buy a new home in NY.

I had to fork over $3,000.00 for the privilege of leaving NY.

And I guarantee you,- I will never move back under any circumstance. FUAC!
