Agreed. When you're an adult you're an adult. Make 18, 19, 20 or 21...doesn't matter to me but when you reach the age of majority you should be able to afford all the freedoms and responsibilities therefore of an adult.

I can remember when I was just a kid in the 1970's going into the store and getting my dad a couple packs of smokes.
I can remember the cigarette machines that were around up to the late 1990's...No ID required.

I can remember when I was 14 / 15 years old, I was not even old enough to have a drivers permit yet. I would drive dads truck down to the local store to get him cigarettes and milk and bread for my mom. This was in the late 1970's in rural South Carolina. Things were a lot different back then... IMO, kids matured much quicker back in those days. I know that I did, I was working on the farm at 14 years old and driving the farm trucks down the road as part of my job at that age.

They raise the age to purchase tobacco products but at the same time the Democrats want to lower the age to vote.

I am a cigarette smoker and I wish that I never started, with that being said.
Having to be 21 years of age to purchase cigarettes is wrong for numerous reasons, I strongly disagree with it.
But then again, I grew up in a time of personal responsibility, less government intrusion, and freedom...
Times have changed bigly...

I wish that I could get my time machine to work. But it is a very complicated thing to build.
I think that I am in over my head on this project.

Yeah, because we all had such a hard time getting alcohol and cigs when we were 16. Can always find someone to buy you this stuff. Shit many parents supply their kids with beer and e cigs now.

I’m militantly anti smoking so take that as you may. I suspect there is research justifying that laws like this do reduce teen smoking.

As for voting age I absolutely think it is too low. Fully support it being 21.

18 year olds these days are not mature; let’s raise everything to 21.
