Check out the new NY compliant faux hiders I just got from Northern Gun Parts (Northern Gun parts.com).
I've been having conversations with Sandy at Northern Gun Parts since August 2016 about creating a NY compliant faux flash hider with an outer diameter of 0.74". I had a gas block fail on a rifle and had to have a gunsmith remove the pinned faux hider so I could replace the block. Want to avoid the gunsmith step going forward and on future builds as well.
Northern already makes NY compliant A2 style hiders but the OD is too big to get a gas block over them. Called Sandy and she took the request to her husband - they own the shop. They were busy with regular orders but agreed to do some research to see if they could produce a compliant version of their Stealth Slim hider without the slots cut all the way through.
After checking in with Sandy on a regular basis I got the thumbs up that they would produce a small run to see how they sell. They completed them in December. I picked up 2 right away. I haven't installed yet but expect they will fit the bill nicely. Once I install and test I will provide a report.
NGP is a small family owned shop and because they were so helpful in creating something for us behind enemy lines, I want to give them a shout out and promote them here. If you need a faux hider or other AR platform parts for your next build please consider giving them your business.
