I've been trying to beat the pandemic stress by getting out for some shooting. After perforating by dueling tree with the Savage 233. I decided on sometime more elegant.
The queen of my rimfire rifles is the CZ 455.
The rifle is very accurate, about 1 MOA with match ammo. I wanted to stretch it's legs past 100 yard. However, I soon discovered that the Prostaff P3 scope did not accommodate enough MOA in elevation to zero past 150 yards. AS you may know, the CZ 455 uses the typical dove-tail scope mounts. Luckily, these guys calles Area 455 make both 15 MOA and 20 MOA bases for the CZ 455. I opted for the 15 MOA base. I was concerned that I would no longer we able to zero the rifle at 50 yards, if I use dthe 20 MOA base.
Now, I really love the lines of the Boyd's lightweight thumb-hole stock. But, the comb is a little low. SO, I've been experimenting with cheek-rise solutions. My latest is a no drill kydex cheek riser. The riser uses some industrial strength Velcro to stay in place. I used a hair-drying to mold the kydex to the contour of the stock. The result is reasonable secure and reasonably comfortable. However, it is a bit of a pain to adjust.
I've order the drilled kydex cheek riser. I'm going to mount it on a Boyds Thumbhole that I'm no longer using. If it works, I'll have the seed for a new rifle.
