Attorneys will do and say anything on behalf of their client... especially if they're getting paid well. Rule of law be damned.

In all honesty, the legal aid (basically public defender) attorneys I see in court do a better job of executing the law than some of the higher paid private ones. Why? The legal aid guys are getting a set fee no matter what so why look like an ass if you're not getting paid to.
