...which is not sitting well with current and former agency officials - or deep state journalists like NBC's Ken Dilanian, who reports that the FBI Agents Association struck out against Bongino's selection.
Without naming Bongino directly, the Association lashed out over the fact that the Deputy Director has typically been an active Special Agent.
"The FBI Deputy Director should continue to be an on-board, active Special Agent—as has been the case for 117 years for many compelling reasons, including operational expertise and experience, as well as the trust of our Special Agent population," reads a memo obtained by WNBC's Jonathan Dienst.
The announcement sent shock waves through the FBI, whose new director Kash Patel had offered Republican senators private assurances that he would name a special agent with bureau experience to be his deputy, rather than a political outsider. Patel was sworn in at the White House on Friday.

This is what happens when you put great American patriots in the room to fix a completely rogue agency. These are the consequences of years of lawless mismanagement and political partisanship by leadership. The complainers are guilty and will be shitcanned. The legitimate, honest, rank and file agents will be retained and ultimately better at their jobs.
The FBI planned Jan 6th, under the orders from top FBI staff and direction from Schumer and team.......at least 25 agents and many other NGO types like Ray Epps were instructed to foment an insurrection..........
Say, 100 field agents and all the FBI top brass conspired...................firing of most of the FBI district office chiefs, and top brass at HQ has already happened. all US Atty's have also been terminated.
It is a start........................A retired FBI agents said that there are gangs and cliques in the agency who will resist..................it must be purged and maybe eliminated, as many duties which duplicate
other agencies duties must be stopped........
All districts have...........FBI Swat teams, FBI hostage Rescue teams, lunch selection teams, training planning groups for trips to Las Vegas.

Depends on the definition of fixed. I’m not sure I expect too much honestly. I hope I’m wrong but I’ve been let down too many times to get too excited.
The best fix for the ATF is to change it to a revenue generating "7-11" type convenience store for, well, Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Still remember going on a job interview at the Univ. of Mississippi in Jackson - they had a "drive thru" beer and booze place. They put the liquid refreshment in your car or truck as you drove through and, when you went to pay at the end, you could get a couple of cold drafts for the road.
