Darth Gets His First 1911

For visibility I painted the iron sights on my revolvers, but damn they're still metal. Now and then I touch them up. I use alternating layers of white then fluorescent orange nail polish. Final coat is clear. For 3 bottles of what's basically laquer I spend about $25. Lifetime supply.

They could improve light pipes but as they are they really cut corners.

These sights are iron though. It's only the pipe that is plastic.

I have Ruger 1911s in .45 ACP and 10mm, would like to complete the collection eventually with a 9mm.

Edit: Shame about the front sight, I had a similar issue with the fiber optic on one of my 10/22 Takedowns. Also saw the video about the Failure to Feed - I'm sure the DW is very tightly fit. People say guns don't need a break-in period but some do..

Yeah, I'm not concerned about that. That will go away.
