He said it was a dumpster fire. That’s great.
Exactly. I had this conversation at work last night with one of the guys in the shop. We both agreed that a lot of it will get overturned, but disagree on the timeline. He says they have to overturn it quickly. I say it will be 10-15 years before it even gets looked at, and don't even think that it will be done at a state level. I will say that he is young and still learning the dumpster fire known as the politics of New York. Hell, the age limit was already shot down in California and it didn't stop it here. They KNOW that will get thrown out, but put it in anyways just to cause as much damage as possible.same old DemocRATic story:
we don't care if what we do is legal or constitutional, we'll pass a stupid law, and let the courts figure it out
And they KNOW we are stuck with their stupidity for years, because thats how long it will take to get through the courts
Overturned? Man I think you’re hopeful. What’s been over turned in the last 10-15 years? We have Heller and that’s it. That was a blatant ban on pistols and that’s the only reason it went our way.Exactly. I had this conversation at work last night with one of the guys in the shop. I've been up all night and am pretty tired, lol. I haven't read through all the laws yet so I'm not completely sure what is a blatant violation that has no standing whatsoever. It wouldn't surprise me to see things in there that have already been tried and failed by other states (mainly California), such as the age restriction. So far, the only things we've had go "our way" is kinda heller, and the 7 round restriction. I'm still amazed that the judge said that 7 is an arbitrary number but allowed 10?? Realistically, the only way I see NY changing is if the supreme court starts running in an efficient manner and blocks laws before or shortly after they are signed, or we get some sort of federal ban similar to what just happened. Make everyone hurt like we are and they may just wake up.Overturned? Man I think you’re hopeful. What’s been over turned in the last 10-15 years? We have Heller and that’s it.
